way way back when it all started was Boxfresh one of the originals of the early UK streetwear scene born in 1989 on the markets in London it has been their and done it, maybe it had become the granddad with the explosion of UK streetwear brands maybe the brand had been left behind.

It was time for a new lease of life with a great website and blog offering competitions with great prizes and latest brand news the main and most important of course are the clothes with a collaboration with Barbour going down well with the stars and the new ss10 range looking really strong with back to basic streetwear that you cant go wrong with. Thanks for the summer

Symbolife would like to thank all the brands involved in stocking us for this years festival season the team at boxfresh, Howie's thanks to you guys it was very late notice, Dave at supremebeing and sorry to Simon for bestival we didn't get in. I would also like to thank the team involved in helping us through the summer Frank and Rob the winch crew for their hard work dud step and general comedy the rsd gig had to be one of my favorites of the whole summer, Sam and Keifer the Bristol duo thanks to you both and Joel for v fest what a funny party in a park that turned out to be much fun especially in the free bar.

the girls for 2000 trees Kim and Jess wow that was a tiny festival with some good people and it rained a lot, extra thanks to Kim for helping packing the marquee down in the rain.

Symbolife's 1st time at Glastonbury Festival 2009

So 2009 was the year Symbolife first took their marquee to Glastonbury Festival! What an experience....

We had made the decision early on in the year to ask some of our Talents to join us at the festivals and come and work with us*

Firstly before we go any further we want to thank the efforts of Talents: ‘Fiction', Rob Carnie and of course the marvellous Frank! These 3 young men helped us out with all the heavy lifting, lugging stuff around, erecting and disassembling our huge Millennium Dome marquee and Frank's personal favourite job.

Our main reason for asking them along was to help them and us promote the Talent and networking side of our business, anyone who knows us and shops with us knows that we value youth culture as our future and try at every possible opportunity to get the rest of the Country to see this as well. Having these young talented guys with us at the festival just seemed the right choice.

Along with our usual fun and games this time we had Twister, Limbo, Giant Pick Up Sticks and of course our drawing equiptment, sofas and chill out area.

We utilised Fictions amazing graffiti talent and had him set up out the front of the marquee with a big white board which he graffed every day with new and exciting images. This was brilliant for him to gain as much publicity as he could and also attracted people's attention to our cause.

We had the very talented Rob Carnie drawing inside the marquee on just about anything he fancied, including out counter front! He chatted to people, did doodles and again gave himself more publicity.
Frank is an up and coming DJ in and around Winchester, we were not able to organise him decks for this event but watch this space, we will be installing the Technic 1210's by the end of the summer! Franks work is soon to be coming to Symbolife.com's Talent pages in the mean time check out his MySpace Page: T.A.N.K.

Frank was in charge of the tunage at the festival with me regularly shouting "No More Bloody Dub Step!" Sorry guys, you just can't dance to it! **

We also met new Talent Keifer O'Brien fantastic young Photographer, he will be joining the Symbolife team at the next festival 2000Trees along with Fiction and possibly Samantha Wright! Check out all our stunning Glastonbury photographs brought to you by Keifer*

So the 5 of us worked really hard, (well ish, it was a festival after all), we met loads of fantastic people, thank you to everyone who came in a and had a chat, a doodle, played Twister, Limbo or to all of those who just had to take the weight of their feet and rest up for an hour!

We had an amazing experience, learnt a lot and will come back next year bigger and better so watch out Glastonbury!

So it feels like the summer has arrived, yippee i keep hearing that's its going to be the best summer for years, where do these rumours come from, lets hope there true, forever the optimist.

We are really gutted to inform you all that Goorin Bros UK distributer has unfortunately shut down. This means that shipping in the hats from the US in the current climate has just become too costly for us and in turn for you.

We are not prepared to sell you the same products you have been buying at an escalated price just to cover our costs.

So sadly for the time being we have to say goodbye to Goorin.

This summers events

So the second part of my blog is this summers events as you may of guessed festivals in particular, we have gone for it this year and we will be found trading at Glastonbury pictured, Womad and V Fest in Chelmsford so a busy summer for the Symbolife festie team.

Snowy Symbolife Fun!

Snow, snow, snow. Loving the snow. We have discovered that the large hill behind the office can be boarded (kind of), which was fun for about 10 minutes until the realisation kicked in that there was no ski lift and getting back up the now enormous MOUNTAIN took more energy than we had. So we gave up and opted for an afternoon in drinking cider, looking at the hill from the window instead of running up and down it! Much better.

In the boredom of being snowed in we took loads of snowy shots and posted them up on the website for you to have a gander at, check them out on our Symbolife Bored Page.
